Get free adviceConsecutive interpreting
Most commonThe interpreter speaks after the speaker: section by section, whenever the speaker pauses. The usual form for conversations with only a few participants.
Simultaneous interpreting
The interpretation runs almost in real time, usually from a booth via headphones and, for longer assignments, by a team of two. Ideal for large audiences, as no time is lost.
Whispered interpreting
A special form of simultaneous interpreting, also known as chuchotage: the interpreter whispers directly next to one or two listeners – without any equipment.
Liaison interpreting
Two-way interpreting for small groups – for example in business negotiations, visits to public authorities or at trade fairs.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about interpreting
Costs, availability, types of interpreting and confidentiality – answered briefly.
Ask your questionHow much does an interpreter cost?
The price depends on the duration, the language, the location (on site including travel, or by video/phone) and the type of interpreting. You receive a no-obligation quote before the assignment – costs only arise once you confirm.
How quickly can I get an interpreter?
Video and telephone interpreting is often possible on the same day. For appointments today or tomorrow, please call us directly: 0208 99 04 77 (Mon–Fri 8:30 am – 4:30 pm).
What is the difference between consecutive and simultaneous interpreting?
In consecutive interpreting, the message is rendered section by section after the speaker – common in court, at public authorities and in medical consultations. In simultaneous interpreting, the interpretation runs almost in real time, usually from a booth via headphones – common at conferences and training sessions.
